Evaluation 6
The Hardware I used...
The Software I used...
The Videos I used...
Hardware: The computer I used mainly was a MAC however, when i started the task i used a dell computer because i thought it was easier to use than the MAC's but as i progressed through the task i started to use the MAC more and more because it was just more convenient than the DELL's. Another reason why i chose to go for the MAC's was because once you converted the work over to it you can't convert it back.
I used a canon 700D camera to film my work with the use of a tripod on occasions to help stabilize some shots. the camera would never have enough battery life for a day of filming so we had to take a larger battery pack accessory to go with it.
I attempted to use a mic but I didn't know how it worked so I didn't realize that the RODE mic wasn't on and had to use the build in mic instead with didn't turn out too bad.
For lighting I had to use an LED torch which was good however, it wasn't enough to reduce the grain on the screen so I had to try and work my way around it and try to reduce it.
Software: The software I used the most was Premiere Pro for editing the clips I had and after effects which I use for editing and creating my company logo and film title. I also used YouTube for a few tutorials on how to make some interesting titles which I did and made them into my own. After effects has some interesting effects that can be used to make some realistic looking titles to some abstract titles and more but to make them look good you will have to have a play around with the features and the settings and sometimes the mistakes can be what makes the title look great. The sound I used I got from Freesound.org, but the sound I put together was a mixture of sounds I found instead of all being a single track to make it sound better and to give it more originality.

I'm using Prezi for my evaluation 3 to change how my work it presented and I also filmed my evaluation 2 for a bit of emotion behind my choice but for most of it I'm going to be using blogger as Prezi and filming takes longer to do and I'm running out of time.
For the videos I used to help me create my title I used:

With this idea I thought that instead of glass why not change it to ice as they seem to have similar textures. From the original video to mine you can see some similarities and differences which I think worked in my favor.

Evaluation 5 - Part 3
When making my opening I thought carefully how I wanted to show the characters. since we could only do the opening I had to go for more subtle methods and as a result I went for the colour of their clothing and their performance. Although they might not have the voice acting I wanted their body language spoke more that them. I chose specific colours for each character to represent who they are without and sort of backstory which if people look carefully they will understand how the main protagonist it.
The music I chose at the start was to fit in with what the protagonist can hear but at the same time I wanted to make it hard on the ears to apply discomfort to tense up the atmosphere. I was looking for a song that contains a piano as the piano can be quite sinister depending on the tune however, I went for a more peaceful tune to throw off the view from what was to come. When the music changes near the end I wanted it to fit in with the situation but also provide a sneak of suspense to go along side it. The questionnaire shows that people like how the music goes with the situations making the opening seem creepy.
The font it nothing amazing as the reason for why I chose it was because I thought that it looked nice and fit in with the opening. I chose to make it fairly transparent because I wanted to make it more subtle yet effective and due to the lighting I picked white to make it noticeable. The font for the opening titles and the title name are fairly similar as people can read them clearly but they are also bold to make them stand out as well. Although I didn't ask in my question sheet about the text people have said that it works and that they can clearly see who is who.
When making the company logo's I originally made 3 however, two of them had the same idea behind what I wanted them to be so I changed it to not only shorten it but to also fit with the music which was excecuted well. The final company logo's shown in the opening have been presented well and have positive views about them making them one of the key features in the opening.
The title of the film was originally 24 seconds long because it included sound and different effects but it would of increased the run time of the opening. The change to make it shorter was vital and effective making the whole opening flow into one.

Evaluation 5 - Part 1
What research did you conduct to help to decide how you would appeal to your audience?
When looking into my idea I thought about who I'm going to aim towards. During the making of my story board I made a few changes to the character and soon decided to settle upon the idea of a teenager crying out for help which I though some people could relate to while at the same try and bring in the horror crowd at the same time so that they can feel a stronger connection toward the protagonist making them feel more immersed in the film. When looking at my secondary target audience research I took into account their ideas of jump scares and suspence however, I was never going to be able to add gory to the plot due to the budget on the other hand, i would of been able to add blood if I used motion tracker on after effects. Since I want to make something that could live up to their expectations I tried to make the opening have suspense and confusion right off the bat as I wanted people to question who and what the 'monster' is.

Evaluation 4
When doing my primary research I have seen what people wanted to see in horror films and I think that this film would be able to meet their expectations staying scary and still have a good story to go along side it. Children will not want to watch this as they might not understand as it deals with a lot of problems later on in life which might cause them to have the wrong representation of life in the future. Elderly people might not like it as much as they might have had a different kind of childhood an not understand why he is suffering the way he is.
