Textual analysis 3

Victor Frankenstein:
The film starts with narration/exposition from one of the main characters to help give a shorter version of who Victor is. The loud thunder and the sinister looking castle gives the feel of abandonment but the rain also give a more ominous feel to the situation. As the narration progresses it starts to draw the audience in by making you feel sorry for the hunch back he starts to show what his life is like in a circus at the same time it also help to determine who the villain's are. The sound of the classic theme song from every circus helps to emphasis that they are performing and the people laughing at the hunch backs misfortune show how people were back then as they think that hurting people is humorous. When he say that 'I always have something to look up to' and the woman appears, it resembles a guardian angle always flying above him. The gentle whispering along side the music show that he is clam around her which tell the audience that he might like/love her. At the same time you can see that not only is he admiring her but he is also interested in something else because some else appears on the screen that show his fascination of the human body which indicates that he wants something more than something for people to laugh at, something that will change his life for the better. The man who starts to insult the hunch show that he himself is someone who didn't get a chance to go to school and get a proper education and never really looks after himself meaning that he wants to put all his frustrations onto someone else which shows the audience why again he is poorly mistreated.

Textual Analysis 2

Recovery:
The film starts with a close up of the female who is placed on the left implicating that she is the main character and with the side smile she looks happy but not to the fullest letting people know that something is wrong. The sounds are limited but you can hear a very faint breeze in the background. The house is dirty meaning that it could be old or the people living there just don't care. The pink flowers are the only colorful thing in the house giving the representation that she is different, trying to be free and open minded. When she looks out the window she looks hard without blinking giving the vibe that she want's go be outside because she feels trapped. When the man starts touching her she looks down with a smile on her face however, the smile is not real has it looks forced leaving the impression that she doesn't want to be touched by him however, she doesn't want to say anything. The man has a sturn face with no change giving the impression that he is emotionless towards her and has no real love towards her. The chest is what looks like a basement which gives the idea that it has something in it and with the boy getting ready you would think that he is going out to a party or a date to impress someone. When the dad enter the bathroom with the son, he has the same plan facial expression on his face with could imply that he has become emotionless or some who has repressed feelings. The subtle piano playing in the background sets the mood that of something quite romantic and which could imply the bond between farther and son or the date that is soon to be. When the dad tells his own son to lie he doesn't look at him he looks away because most people look away one they lie so that they don't feel as guilty when their doing it. The part broken mirror show that the family could be poor or that someone smashed it on purpose because they were angry. There is constant piano music playing in the background setting a nice mood to what looks like deserted house making sound out of place for the situation. The women bursting out the box shows that she was trapped there and show a will to live even under looks like a one sided situation she is showing power and resistance. The weapons on the wall show that the family are people who are creative in their way of murder and the shackles show that they have a way of restraining people but by the looks of their color they look like they have been used before a few times meaning that they have trapped people before. The music adds a heart beat to it which gives the impression that you are hearing the girls heart as shes panicking which amps up the tension. When shes holding the weapon she is holding it close to her body which indicates that she is nervous about even holding it let alone using it. When the dad enters the kitchen he has a face which speaks of "I have done a good job raising him and giving my son advice". The look on the girls face when she hits him around the face shows that she didn't want to do it but her actions show tat she will do anything to survive. When the dad grabs the girl by the neck, people often push them to the wall to help give them leverage but since by sheer strength he picked her up with one hand shows that he is almost inhuman and kills her with nothing but rage in his eyes showing no signs of guilt when he kills her meaning that he is a man of murderous intent.

Rise of the guardian.

Narrations at the start over whelms any other sound however, there is no music or environment sound giving the effect that you are looking in the past. The dark silhouette gives the sense of death and sorrow but also considering that he is not moving leaves the audience wondering if he is dead leaving a concerned feeling in the person. The extreme close up on his face shows more of his facial expressions drawing you to the character because you are having to put more effort into understanding his situation. He is also place more one left side of the screen indicating that he is the main character or someone of importance. The lighting is quite dark meaning that this is happening at night putting a sense of danger and fear but with the moon shining so bright it gives a feel of safety. His skin color is white portraying him as innocent and trust worthy showing him as a character who is friendly but the dark blue surrounding him is almost like a void that he can escape from leaving the sense of loneliness. Breaking through the ice gives the indication that he is free from what looked like death and floating up toward the sky makes it seem like he an angel. When he moved the staff with his foot it show that he is unsure of what to expect forcing the audience to think that the staff is not safe however, when he moves it all of that uncertainty is washed away making the situation more clam and relaxing. The cracking sound from when the ice come from the staff almost leaves a shiver up you spine giving the sense of coldness but with the beautiful marks it makes is something that makes people feel happy. The piano music playing in the background is something that calms the watcher but when it starts to pick up You get the feel of adventure and understanding almost making something click inside the viewer making them a kid again as they follow Jack Frost. The sound of laughing as he run around like a child playing with a new toy makes the audience feel as if they are there with him. the long shot of him on the branch give a clear view that he is place in a forest but also shows the sheer scale of it all making it something that people could get lot in but the houses in the background are almost like a bonfire as the lights glow in the night. When he arrives at the small village he says "hello" to everyone he meets making him seem like a friendly and caring person. When the child runs through Jack it leaves him stunned but also leaves the audience confused as to why people can just walk through him.
