The next film is lights out which is compared to the conjuring. It's a horror which is 59% aimed at 15-24 year old, 24% aimed at 25-34 year old, 8% aimed 35-44 year old and 9% aimed at 45+ year old. This makes it a film aimed more towards the mature audience. It's aimed more aimed towards woman with a 56% to 44% comparison which doesn't mean that much but if it's going for stereotypes then that would mean that it could be more story driven or have some more touchy elements to it. The film it's self isn't anything spectacular but it does have a few good jump scares.

Cell is compared with Phone Booth It's a horror which is 41% aimed at 15-24 year old, 35% aimed at 25-34 year old, 12% aimed 35-44 year old and 12% aimed at 45+ year old. this makes it a film aimed more towards the mature audience. Men seem to be the more where the film is looking which could mean that it's a more action pact film with more violence.

How will this affect my ideas?

With what I have seen in this my idea for the film opening has changed a little in terms of different font and different camera angles and location. I want to make a mature film that covers a physiological horror aspect. Most of the scenes will be in the dark making it more noticeable as a horror film also it might or might not have some jump scares to it depending on how I would be able to achieve it. I'm going to do a few over the shoulder shots and a lot of close ups because I want to get the emotions of each character from when they are scared and when they happy or sad because it give the film depth and meaning.

Target audience.

From what I have seen it would be aiming my film more towards 15-24 year old because they have a better understanding of different feelings and emotions that the film is trying to portray. Also it's aimed more towards males because since the main protagonist is male they male audience will feel a stronger connection to him making for a better opening however, the female audience won't shy away as it has a strong story behind it.

  1. Good. I think you could do a better job of creating you own audience profile. Look at the a Grade example.
